Overview
Kifune Shrine, located at the headwaters of the Kamogawa River, is the main shrine of approximately 500 Kifune Shrines nationwide. The dragon god, who is in charge of water supply, is enshrined here, and rituals to ward off the rain and stop the rain have been held since ancient times. Kifune Shrine has three shrines: the main shrine, the inner shrine, and the association, and the sacred water that overflows from the stone wall in front of the main shrine building is spring water from Mt. Kifune.
It is famous for its “Mizuura Fortune Telling” (Mizuura Fortune Telling), which appears when you float it. How about trying your luck with your friends to remember your trip? The deity enshrined at Okumiya is Iwanagahime no Mikoto, who is said to bring good luck in matchmaking. The dragon cave directly below the main hall of the inner shrine is one of the three major dragon caves in Japan.
