Mt. Hakkoda is the collective name for a multi-volcanic group consisting of 18 mountains, with Mt. Odake (1,585 m above sea level) as its main peak located south of Aomori City, and has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 Famous Mountains.

Asamushi Onsen

Asamushi Onsen has a long history of over 1200 years and is famous as a representative hot spring area in Aomori Prefecture. The discovery of hot springs dates back to the Heian period, when they were first discovered by Jikaku Daishi (Ennin), but at that time, the use of hot springs was limited to steaming hemp for making cloth, which is said to be the origin of “asamushi”. It is said that the name “Asamushi” was derived from this. Later, in 1190, Enko Daishi (Honen) visited this area and saw an injured deer soaking in the hot springs, and encouraged the villagers to bathe in the hot springs. started. The hot spring town, which is full of the charm of each season, is full of activities such as bathing in the hot springs, kayaking, SUP yoga, yachting, fishing, and walking in the forest. It is a hot spring area where you can enjoy the sea, mountains, and hot springs all at once.

Hirosaki Castle

Hirosaki Castle is located in Shimoshiroganecho, Hirosaki City, and was once used as the residence of the lord of the Tsugaru domain. It is the only existing castle tower in the Tohoku region, and is a composite tower with three layers and three floors, a height of 14.4 meters, and a total weight of approximately 400 tons. The roof of the castle tower is made of copper tiles that will not break even in heavy snowfall, giving it a distinctive feature unique to Tohoku castles. In addition to the castle tower, three turrets and five castle gates remain within the castle, all of which are designated as important cultural properties. Although the castle was abolished in 1871, Hirosaki Park was established within the castle grounds, allowing visitors to enjoy the castle’s stunning architecture and the beautiful surrounding park.

Hirosaki City Apple Park

Hirosaki City Apple Park is a magnificent park located in Hirosaki City, with an area of approximately 9.7 hectares. There are 80 types of apple trees (approximately 2,300 trees) planted here, and visitors can experience apple harvesting from early August to early November. Additionally, the Hirosaki Apple Flower Festival is held in May, where beautiful white apple flowers bloom all at once. There are various attractions within the park, including the “Apple House”, “Old Koyamauchi Family Residence”, and “Kimori”, and through these facilities and events, you can fully experience the charm of apples.
