Itinerary

Start your cycling journey from Onomichi in Hiroshima Prefecture, a charming hillside port town of temples, steep lanes, and cats. After renting your bicycle at the port terminal, cross the Shin-Onomichi Bridge and ride onto Mukaishima Island, enjoying the first stretch of flat cycling road with views of the Seto Inland Sea on both sides. Continue across to Innoshima Island, known for its pirate history, and visit Innoshima Suigun Castle before settling into your island guesthouse for the night.
Day 2
Cycle from Innoshima across the elegant Ikuchi Bridge to Ikuchijima Island, home to the colorful and quirky Kosanji Temple complex, a stunning collection of replicas of Japan's greatest architectural treasures. Continue through fragrant citrus groves to Omishima Island, the spiritual heart of the Seto Inland Sea, and visit Oyamazumi Shrine, one of the oldest and most important maritime shrines in Japan. Spend the evening on the island, dining on fresh local seafood including sea bream and octopus caught in the surrounding waters.
Day 3
Set off from Omishima for the final stretch of the route, crossing Hakata Island and Oshima Island on well-maintained cycling paths that hug the coastline with sweeping sea views. Finish the ride with the iconic Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge crossing, from where you can look down on the complex tidal currents of the Kurushima Straits below. Arrive in Imabari in Ehime Prefecture, where you can celebrate the completion of your journey with a bowl of Imabari's famous white soy sauce ramen before returning your bicycle.

Gorgeous Takachihokyo trekking in Miyazaki 3days

Day 1
Arrive in Takachiho, a small mountain town steeped in Japanese mythology, and begin with a visit to Takachiho Shrine, where ancient cedar trees tower over a sacred space believed to have been founded over 1,900 years ago. In the evening, attend the nightly Kagura performance held within the shrine precincts, where local performers re-enact scenes from Japan's creation myths in a captivating ritual dance that has been passed down through generations. Settle into your guesthouse and enjoy the quiet mountain air after a day of deep cultural immersion.
Day 2
Head out early to Takachiho Gorge, where the Gokase River has carved a dramatic ravine through columnar basalt formed by ancient eruptions of Mt. Aso. Rent a rowboat and glide beneath the towering rock walls to the base of Manai Falls, one of Japan's most beautiful waterfalls, which cascades gently into the emerald-green water above you. In the afternoon, hike the gorge walking trail for sweeping views from above, then visit Amanoiwato Shrine, the site of the famous myth of the sun goddess Amaterasu hiding in a cave and plunging the world into darkness.
Day 3
Drive out to Kunimigaoka, a highland viewpoint that offers one of Japan's most celebrated sea-of-clouds vistas at dawn, with mountain peaks rising above a blanket of mist in the valleys below. Explore the rural countryside surrounding Takachiho, visiting small roadside shrines, traditional farmhouses, and local craft workshops preserving Miyazaki's artisan heritage. Before departing, stop at the Takachiho Winery to sample locally produced wine made from grapes grown on the volcanic soils of the highlands.Sonnet 4.6 アダプティブ
